About Us

The Victorian Ombudsman (VO) provides a free, independent, accessible and impartial service to the public. The Ombudsman Act 1973 (Vic) is the governing legislation.

The VO's role is to ensure that the services of state and local government, and other public organisations are delivered in a fair and reasonable manner that is compatible with the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 (Vic) and that human rights have been taken into consideration in decision making.

About the Role

The Information Management Lead will play a lead role in supporting Victorian Ombudsman (VO) in developing and implementing an Information Management Strategy and Improvement Plan, alongside implementing and maintaining efficient and effective records and document management systems and associated procedures that meet regulatory, corporate and best practice requirements.

This role requires a strong ability to work independently in a complex environment. The role requires strong communication skills to cultivate and engage VO stakeholders, promoting mature records management practices across VO.  The role is instrumental in the provision of advice to the Knowledge & Technology Team and the broader business on managing information to meet compliance and best practice obligations.
