Go far with IOR

IOR might be the greatest Aussie success story you haven't heard of… yet.

From humble roots in Eromanga, QLD, we've been fuelling the furthest corners of Australia for over 40 years. You won't see our logo on racing cars. Instead, you'll be part of a team that helps fuel LifeFlight's choppers and supports communities around the nation - real work with real impact that's growing every day.

We're looking for a Purchasing Officer who can turn procurement insights into strategic decisions that drive real value This role puts you in the driver's seat - leading meaningful projects and shaping IOR's growth as we scale to become Australia's premier commercial fuel supplier. Join a supportive team that trusts you to own it and build a worthwhile career with a business that's going further.

Your opportunity

As our Purchasing Officer, you'll be the engine behind seamless procurement — ensuring the right goods and services arrive on time, every time. You'll bring structure to our purchasing processes, build strong vendor relationships, and keep payments flowing smoothly. With your sharp eye for detail and knack for communication, you'll help us deliver operational excellence from the back office to the front line

You'll make an impact by:

  • Process purchase orders with precision – review, verify and action requests to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage vendor relationships – source quotations, evaluate responses, and select suppliers aligned with policy and criteria.
  • Oversee order and invoice workflows – expedite deliveries, verify goods and services, and reconcile accounts to keep payments on track.
  • Maintain accurate records – complete data entry, report discrepancies, and uphold audit compliance across purchasing activities.
  • Deliver exceptional internal service – build trust with stakeholders through timely communication, quality outcomes, and collaborative support.

What you'll bring

You'll bring a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for process improvement. With proven experience in vendor coordination, workflow management and data accuracy, you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where precision matters. Your commitment to operational excellence and collaborative relationships will help drive seamless purchasing outcomes and support the success of the wider team.

To succeed in this role, you'll also need:

  • Diploma of Procurement and Contracting is preferred, with solid foundations in purchasing and vendor coordination.
  • Confident in data entry and familiar with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to juggle competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and focus.
  • Builds strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Experience in high-volume purchasing or Accounts Payable, with a friendly, results-focused approach.

  • Grow your expertise and career with access to experienced mentors and ongoing training and development opportunities
