About Us

We are a values-driven organisation committed to creating a compassionate society that takes an informed, health-first approach. Our work empowers individuals, families, and communities to maximise health and wellbeing. We believe that by working in partnership—without judgement—we can promote meaningful change and support those affected by alcohol and other drugs, mental health and other health equity issues.

Our Purpose

To empower individuals, families, and communities to maximise health and wellbeing, by working in partnership and without judgement.

Our Values

  • Integrity – We are accountable, transparent, and honest in all we do.
  • Compassion – We approach everyone with care, kindness, and understanding.
  • Acceptance – We foster belonging and empowering people to bring their whole selves to our community.
  • Respect – We honour diversity, individuality, and lived experience.
  • Excellence – We strive for the highest standards in all aspects of our work.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and people-focused HR professional to lead our People and Culture team within our Corporate Services Program. As the People & Culture (P&C) Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organisational culture, supporting our dedicated staff, and driving initiatives that reflect our values, mission, and vision.

Your Role

As P&C Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the operational Human Resources function, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, workplace safety regulations, and company policies and reflect best practice.
  • Champion a culture of inclusivity, wellbeing, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders to develop and implement people strategies that align with organisational goals.
  • Manage employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support managers and staff through coaching, advice, and innovative HR solutions.
  • Drive employee engagement and recognition initiatives, ensuring all team members feel valued and heard.
  • Promote and facilitate a safe and supportive work environment for all employees.
  • Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Embody and promote the organisation's commitment to working without judgement and with compassion and respect.

About You

We are looking for a people-first leader who brings both strategic insight and a hands-on, empathetic approach to HR management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in HR leadership, preferably within the not-for-profit, healthcare, or community services sectors.
  • A deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive workplace practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in change management, organisational development, and supporting staff through periods of transformation.
  • Sound knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation, including in the context of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS compliance and legislation requirements.
  • Experience in the implementation and management of a Human Resources Information System.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities, integrity, and a commitment to ethical practice.
  • Ability to lead with empathy, inspire trust, and foster a positive, collaborative culture.

Why Join Us?

Joining us means becoming part of a mission-driven organisation that places people at the heart of everything we do. As HR (People and Culture) Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals, families, and communities every day.
  • Work in a progressive, flexible, and supportive environment that encourages personal and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with passionate, talented colleagues who share your commitment to making a difference.
  • Lead projects and initiatives that enhance staff wellbeing, motivation, and engagement.

Contribute to the ongoing development of a compassionate, informed, and health-focused society.
