The Opportunity

Westonia Aviation is seeking vibrant and supportive candidate/s to join our Perth operations who will be available to perform either aircraft ramp services duties for our passenger and aircraft movements. This role not only covers all standard ramp duties but also includes a portfolio focused on supporting and monitoring Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

The successful applicant will be responsible for

  • Executing aircraft ground handling services including marshalling and baggage handling, with the completion of required documentation
  • Load/Unload passenger luggage and air cargo, bulk and / pallets, from/onto carts and/or dollies and Deliver passenger luggage to claim area and unload onto conveyor system
  • Load/unload wheelchairs and child strollers and deliver to designated location
  • Drive and operate ground support equipment which may include baggage tug, baggage, water/lavatory service trucks, pushback tug and passenger/crew van.
  • Always maintain the highest standards of safety and security
  • Report equipment problems and breakdowns to facilitate fast repairs
  • Report safety hazards and incidents
  • Support the oversight, allocation, and safe use of Ground Support Equipment.
  • Assist with routine checks, reporting defects, and coordinating maintenance.
  • Monitor GSE usage to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide feedback to managers on equipment performance and operational needs.

Candidate requirements

  • Must be reliable and passionate about aviation and maintenance
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with valid work rights
  • Experience delivering multiple tasks simultaneously, with excellent time management
  • The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Be available for shift work which includes mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 32kg
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Must hold a current WA or other state Driver's License

Highly desirable:

  • Previous airline experience
  • Current ASIC, ADA and Dangerous Goods certificate
  • Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate
  • Ability to work in a team environment and a commitment to on-time performance
  • Mechanical aptitude or interest in equipment maintenance (preferred).
