About the opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled finance professional who has a keen interest in informing strategic decision-making as well as supporting the organisation's financial integrity. The Financial and Commercial Accountant enjoys a role remit which offers a balance of financial accounting responsibilities and commercial and business partnering. Reporting to the Manager Financial Accounting, this role supports our Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) business division, embarc.

Leading both the financial accounting responsibilities and serving as a strategic commercial and business partner, key activities include:

  • Prepare month-end and year-end journals, reconciliations, and financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
  • Partner with operational and departmental managers to provide financial analysis and insights
  • Manage general ledger integrity and maintain accurate financial records
  • Support the preparation of statutory reports, tax returns, and other compliance obligations
  • Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Analyse business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives

About you:

This opportunity calls for someone with initiative and attention to detail. Evident in your work history is your ability to manage varied responsibilities and produce work to an exceptional standard. Our ideal candidate brings with them:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting and Finance
  • CPA or CA qualification (or nearing completion)
  • Experience in both financial and commercial accounting
  • Strong knowledge of account standards and statutory reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms, such as TechnologyOne, SAP, or Oracle
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to engage, partner, and present to a diverse audience.
