
Family Support Coordinator

Warwick East and Warwick Central State Schools are seeking a passionate professional to support children and their families as they transition into school, establish positive attendance habits, access external government and community services, and overcome barriers to learning.
This position is a cluster arrangement between Warwick East State School and Warick Central State School, operating on a flexible rotation across both sites.

Warwick East State School is a proud and vibrant school committed to nurturing a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Located in the heart of Warwick, our school is dedicated to providing high-quality education that inspires curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning. Our school provides a co-educational primary education from prep to year 6 for students from Warwick and the surrounding rural area. Our school uses effective learning strategies to deliver the Australian curriculum, prioritizing literacy, numeracy, and tailored instruction to support the specific needs of every student.
The school has a long history dating back to 1850, making it the oldest school in Queensland. The National School building, one of the original buildings is heritage listed. Air-conditioned classrooms are a mix of new modular rooms as well as refurbished rooms in older buildings.
Warwick Central State School:
Warwick Central State School is a centrally located primary school located in the heart of Warwick, Queensland, at the corner of Guy & Percy Streets. We have a rich history and a clear plan for the success of all students moving into the future. Our school adopts high quality- learning practices to teach the Australian Curriculum, offers both straight year-level and multi-age classes, and places strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy and differentiated instruction to meet individual learner needs.

- Implement structured and long-term collaboration with a diverse range of external partners to drive positive outcomes for families and children to engage successfully with learning and strengthen relationships with parents and carers to facilitate improvement in student attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Work with and support the needs of children from diverse and complex backgrounds, including First Nations young persons with disability and young persons in care.
- Build and sustain positive relationships and effective partnerships with children, families and carers, school staff, government agencies and community services, and facilitate family led decision making processes to ensure optimum outcomes for children and their families.

The Perfect Fit:
- Experience working in a culturally responsive manner with culturally diverse families and students and/or a willingness to work and train in culturally appropriate approaches is essential.
- Knowledge of the regions demographic and local service providers and agency supports would be highly regarded.
