About The Team
The City of Gold Coast is undergoing an exciting digital transformation and bringing critical IT and spatial services in-house. As part of this journey, we're seeking two Geospatial Platform Administrators to provide day-to-day technical support, maintenance, and monitoring of Council's ArcGIS Enterprise platform and related infrastructure.
This is a key opportunity for a GIS professional with strong support and monitoring skills who thrives on ensuring reliable access to GIS services, assisting with troubleshooting and issue resolution, and supporting platform improvements to keep the GIS environment stable, secure, and aligned with organisational requirements.
About Your New Role
In this role, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support, maintenance, and monitoring of Council's ArcGIS Enterprise platform and related infrastructure.
Working under the guidance of the Geospatial Platform Administrator, you will ensure reliable access to GIS services, assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution, and support platform improvements. You'll work closely with the members of the GIS Services Team and ICT staff to ensure smooth operation of the GIS platform.
What You'll Do
- Proactively monitor and analyse ArcGIS Enterprise and associated GIS services to ensure availability and performance.
- Support the implementation of software patches, upgrades, and platform enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum benefit.
- Provide first-line technical support to business users and IT staff for GIS platform access, service issues, and troubleshooting.
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline GIS administration and improve system efficiency.
- Maintain and update documentation, workflows, and standard operating procedures for GIS administration tasks.
- Engage with business units to understand evolving GIS needs and recommend solutions that support organisational goals.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and practices, making recommendations for adoption to enhance the GIS platform.

We're Looking For People Who Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Geospatial Science, or a related discipline; or equivalent knowledge gained through experience in a GIS or ICT support role.
- Practical experience with the administration, monitoring, or support of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online environments.
- Experience in the administration and support of the FME platform (FME Flow and FME Form), including automation, troubleshooting, and upgrade management.
- Knowledge of GIS data management principles and basic system administration practices.
- Experience providing technical support, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting users with access and service requests.
- Ability to follow procedures for patching, upgrades, and service deployment under supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to apply guidance and resolve standard issues.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with IT staff, business users, and vendors.
- Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and contribute as part of a team.
