Job Summary

The Power BI Developer Intern / Graduate will support the development of business intelligence reports and dashboards using data from the Altus project management platform. The role offers hands-on experience with Power BI, system integration, and data analytics within Toshiba's project management environment. The intern will assist in troubleshooting, data analysis, and system improvement activities to help enhance visibility and decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development Support

  • Assist in developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards using data from Altus.
  • Support data cleaning, modelling, and visualization tasks.
  • Work with senior team members to understand reporting requirements and deliver simple visual insights.

System Support and Troubleshooting

  • Help investigate data or functionality issues within Altus.
  • Support fault-finding by checking background flows and reporting findings to senior developers.
  • Assist with documenting technical issues and solutions.

Integration and Improvement

  • Support efforts to integrate Altus with other Toshiba systems
  • Contribute ideas for improving workflows, data visibility, and user experience.
  • Participate in testing new features, integrations, and updates.

Monitoring and Tracking

  • Assist in tracking bugs, enhancement requests, and improvements in Altus.
  • Maintain records of issues, updates, and resolution timelines.
  • Support regular reporting to management on system performance and development progress.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of Power BI (Power Query, DAX, and data modelling).
  • Strong interest in data analytics, business intelligence, and system integration.
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn technical troubleshooting.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Business Analytics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, especially Power BI and Power Apps.
  • Experience in querying and reporting against complex data structures.
  • Experience with back-end application/database design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience with collaboration and communication amongst various stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a data and systems-focused environment.

Bonus criteria we'd be looking for in a candidate:

  • Full-stack web development experience using relevant modern frameworks, particularly:
  • Experience with the Laravel PHP framework.
  • Experience with the JavaScript framework.
