CDU is the only Northern Territory (NT)-based university and, as a place-based regional institution, is deeply embedded in our local communities. The CDU Menzies Medical Program is a medical program designed to graduate and retain more First Nations and local resident doctors in the NT to serve the health needs of the NT population.
About the Position
As the Clinical Placement Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating clinical placements for students enrolled in the CDU Menzies Medical Program. The role encompasses observational Medicine in Context placements in Years 1 and 2, and clinical placements in Years 3 to 5. It ensures operational placement delivery is efficient, compliant, and responsive to the specific educational needs of medical students and the complex clinical placement environment in the Northern Territory.
Working under the strategic direction of the Program Manager and Dean, and in collaboration with the CDU Faculty of Health Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team, the Coordinator plays a vital liaison role between the program, clinical services, and students.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- A degree with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in health, education, or placement coordination.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating placements or similar activities in a tertiary, health, or education setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively and respectfully with diverse stakeholders, including First Nations led organisations and health professionals in complex settings.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks and timelines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, including experience using digital systems for data tracking, compliance checking, and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and diplomacy in complex environments, particularly where services may be under pressure or face challenges in hosting medical students.
Desirable
- Knowledge of the Northern Territory's healthcare system, including challenges related to placement capacity in remote areas.
- Familiarity with university systems such as InPlace and understanding of TEQSA and AMC accreditation processes.
- Experience working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) or in cross-cultural settings.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 7. The base salary will be in the range of $96,559 - $105,992 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $112,974 - $124,010 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
