Your new role

As the Medical Receptionist, you'll be the welcoming face of the clinic and a key player in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing appointment bookings and diary control for multiple health professionals
  • Processing patient billing via EFTPOS, Medicare, and electronic invoicing
  • Maintaining accurate patient records including referrals, contact details, and next of kin
  • Coordinating appointment reminders via HotDoc, email, and SMS
  • Answering phone calls, prioritising messages, and handling urgent requests with discretion
  • Supporting clinical research through data entry and patient questionnaires
  • Upholding confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and interactions

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in medical reception or a similar administrative role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to multitask
  • Confidence in handling billing systems, EFTPOS, and Medicare processes
  • Familiarity with appointment systems such as HotDoc (preferred)
  • A high level of discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure
