At the heart of the New South Wales (NSW) planning system, the Planning Group takes centre stage. Driven by the NSW Government's unwavering commitment to tackle the critical housing issue, we provide essential support and strategic guidance. The Planning Land Use Strategy, Housing and Infrastructure (PLUSHI) team are the driving force behind the Department's strategic planning, policy, rezoning, and infrastructure projects, all aimed at making New South Wales a better place to live.

The role

The Project Officer, Procurement provides procurement expertise on procurement schemes and panels and assists stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives. The role partners with stakeholders to provide advice, support and guidance on procurement activities ensuring best practice procurement across the Planning Group.

About you

You will provide expert advice, information and guidance on procurement schemes and panels to staff across Planning Group and provide governance and support on the categories of spend and conduct procurement activities and training in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet business needs ensuring adoption of best practice, and participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes.

Keeping up to date with procurement policy, processes and legislation and building knowledge within business units on procurement schemes and panels and the ability to prioritise workload to provide a prompt response to ensure service delivery within agreed timeframes, quality standards, and budgetary constraints are some of the key requirements to this multifaceted role.
