Project Officer – Environment & Heritage Planning

Location: Sydney Metro – Parramatta (hybrid working), a mixture of working from the office and home

Employment type: Temporary Full-Time up to 6 months

Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $113,574 to $125,720 pa plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

As a Project Officer – Environment & Heritage Planning, you will manage the development and implementation of projects, including project plans, policies and solutions and contributes to issue resolution and escalation, research, analysis activities and planning and monitoring activities.

What you'll do

As part of the Environment & Heritage Planning team, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Manage the Environment & Heritage Planning work program in the management and development of environmental, planning, sustainability and heritage strategies and policies
  • Manage the implementation and monitoring of plans under guidance to ensure the Department's assets comply with environment, planning and heritage legislation

  • Monitor, track and report on the status of project deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics are in line with approved project plans for assigned projects

  • Coordinate and maintaining a register of compliance with endorsed project management methodology, ITIL change management processes and other relevant organisational policies for audit purposes

  • Contribute to the development of project plans under guidance to develop future capability
  • Research and analyse options in relation to business cases and project deliverables to guide optimal decision making
  • Provide administrative and functional office support to the team

You'll work as part of a team of five professionals that manage the environmental, heritage and planning matters for the Department's assets and who ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements. You'll have the opportunity to combine working from home and work in a modern office environment, as well as undertaking site visits on a regular basis.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Drivers Licence with ability and willingness to drive throughout NSW. This role may involve overnight stays.
  • Holds a current Construction Industry White Card or willingness to obtaining one within two months of commencement.
