Seeker is a leading provider in subsurface utility mapping and asset investigations, specialising in the delivery of subsurface utility data to project owners within key sectors including roads, rail, defence and energy. Due to our continued growth and pipeline of projects, we are looking for a motivated and experienced NDD Operator to join our expanding team on a casual basis with a view to permanency. This role will be supporting project teams in providing project owners with critical data for a diverse range of infrastructure projects. The role is based in Melbourne, and will involve occasional travel, night shift and weekend work as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake utility investigations via vacuum excavation methods
  • Drive and operate NDD vac trucks and associated equipment, including water jetting and vacuum systems
  • Interpret technical drawings and utility plans
  • Preparing site reports and data compliant with industry standards
  • Safely prepare job sites, ensuring efficiency and minimal disruption to surrounding areas
  • Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to project teams
  • Transport and dispose of spoil and waste materials responsibly and in accordance with regulations
  • Perform daily checks and basic cleaning of the truck and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Foster strong client relationships

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in vacuum excavation
  • Solid understanding of subsurface asset mapping
  • Ability to interpret BYDA drawings
  • Hold a valid HR Drivers Licence
  • Valid Construction Induction Card
  • Good level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
