Job Description:
Royal Canin, a division of Mars Pet Nutrition Australia, is dedicated to delivering precise, science-based nutrition tailored to the unique needs of cats and dogs. Our specialised formulas are developed to support every stage of a pet's life, promoting optimal health and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Pet Specialty Retail Director, due to an exciting internal move, we're seeking a commercially astute National Account Manager with a passion for pets and a proven ability to turn insights into action You'll drive growth, execute strategic plans, and deliver outstanding customer engagement across a major account.
With strong commercial and analytical skills, you'll thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, while managing key relationships across omnichannel Pet Specialty Retail to strengthen Royal Canin's market presence and performance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and achieve budgeted targets for the retail portfolio.
Utilise category insights, demand planning, and data analytics to identify growth opportunities.
Develop and execute strategic plans, including promotional and marketing initiatives, to increase brand visibility and sales.
Present new product developments (NPD) and category merchandising initiatives to corporate partners.
Negotiate and manage trading terms as part of annual strategic planning.
Conduct performance reviews with key accounts, analyse trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Oversee trade spend budgets and promotional programs to maximise financial performance.
Ensure optimal product supply by contributing to demand forecasting and supply chain coordination.
Support customer marketing initiatives, including promotional campaigns, product launches, and educational programs for retail and veterinary staff.
What are we looking for?
You bring proven sales expertise, with a strong track record in selling, negotiating, and using data-driven insights to develop tailored customer plans that deliver mutual growth and meet both company and customer objectives. In addition, you have:
A degree in Commerce or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in Key Account Management across both offline and online specialist retail channels.
Strong project management capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with tools like Power BI.
