We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Operations Analytics and Insights Lead to join our Operations team in either Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth, on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Operations Strategy & Capital, you will be responsible for bringing data-driven insights and analysis to APA's strategic initiatives and plans across Operations including gas infrastructure and power generation asset systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced analysis and insights supporting Operations' strategy, performance, budgeting and capital prioritisation and governance functions including forecasts, reports and visualisations
  • Provide cross-functional collaboration, strategic input and guidance to the Operations data, systems and intelligence and technology teams, to ensure alignment with broader Operations strategic needs
  • Support the development of asset system strategic plans, aligned with APA's long-term goals and objectives, embedding analytics into decision-making and business planning
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and communicate clearly and efficiently at all levels in the organisation
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in analytics, identifying improvement opportunities and focusing on efficiency and automation

Your background

  • Tertiary qualifications in data science, business, economics, engineering or a related relevant field
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, identify needs and opportunities, establish relationships and execute plans in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in senior business analytics position including development of analytics and insights capability in an operational context
  • Experience in energy infrastructure operations in Australia, such as gas production, transmission and storage, gas-fired power generation, renewable generation and storage and electricity transmission
  • Proficient in analytics, database tools, business intelligence and visualisation
