About This Opportunity

This role is ideal for a hands-on, motivated person looking to grow their skills in a mechanical workshop environment. Based at our Darra depot, you will support qualified mechanics with servicing and repairs, move vehicles, maintain workshop organisation and contribute to fleet readiness. If you enjoy practical work, learning new skills and being part of a supportive team, this is an excellent entry pathway into the transport and mechanical trade industry.

Position Requirements
  • Completion of Year 10 with sound results in Maths and English
  • Experience in a transport or workshop environment (highly regarded)
  • Manual driver's licence (HR/HC/MC depending on depot requirements)
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong work ethic, physical fitness, and willingness to learn
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools safely

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanics with servicing and repairs of fleet vehicles
  • Ensure vehicles are available and moved into the workshop as needed
  • Deliver and collect vehicles from external repairers
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation
  • Book out parts used on jobs to specific vehicles
  • Report hazards and follow WHS procedures
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and training sessions
