Want a role that gives you the best of both worlds - strategic coordination in the office and hands-on, on-the-road work with clients? If you're ready to lead from the front and stay on the tools while playing a key role in a family-run, community-driven auto business, we've got the role for you.
Stouch Auto isn't your average mechanical workshop. We're a proudly Brisbane-based, family-oriented business built on trust, technical excellence, and customer-first service. We're looking for a seasoned and motivated Workshop Lead who's ready to step into a role that blends leadership with hands-on know-how.
This isn't about just keeping things moving - it's about making things better. If you thrive on responsibility, love mentoring a team, and want your next job to actually feel meaningful, we want to hear from you.
What's On Offer● A salary package of up to $95,000 per year plus super and a work vehicle - we're open to discussing the package for the right candidate.
● A permanent, salaried leadership role with variety, purpose and ownership, where you can create a schedule that works for you.
● The chance to lead a close-knit team, with the support of management and admin staff.
● Ongoing professional development across leadership, customer service, and technical training.
● The ability to shape workshop operations, grow your career, and make a real impact on a local family-run business.
● A collaborative, down-to-earth workplace that celebrates initiative, pride in your work, and supporting each other.
● Tools, resources, and on-the-ground support to help you lead with confidence.
What You'll Be Doing● Providing day-to-day leadership of the workshop, coordinating jobs, technicians, and schedules.
● Jumping in on the tools when needed - hands-on technical work is part of the role.
● Supervising apprentices, mentoring junior techs, and helping everyone lift their game.
● Ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality work across all workshop activities.
● Liaising with the Service Coordinator to manage job scheduling, parts ordering, and customer updates.
● Supporting the admin and customer service teams, from quotes to follow-ups.
● Representing the brand at industry networking events, community functions, and more.
● Keeping communication flowing between the workshop and leadership team - your insights will help guide the business forward.
Who You Are● A qualified motor mechanic or technician (Cert III in Auto/Heavy Vehicle/Fitter & Turner or similar).
● years of experience on the tools, ideally with leading hand or supervisory experience.
● Confidence in working with light vehicles, experience with electric or heavy vehicles is a bonus.
● You hold an Open driver's licence, with A/C licence required (MR licence a bonus).
Why Join Stouch Auto? We're not just fixing cars - we're building a team that cares. We invest in our people, back good ideas, and treat our staff like the professionals they are. As Workshop Lead, you'll be trusted to run the floor, contribute to business decisions, and grow into the leader you want to be.
