Apprentice Refrigeration Mechanic

AJ Baker & Sons are a fourth generation, family owned company, established in 1920 with branches throughout Australia. Located in WA, SA, NSW, VIC & QLD, we specialise in; supply, installation, service and maintenance of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning for supermarkets and other commercial businesses.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated individual to join the NSWteam as they undertake a 4-year Apprenticeship completing Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of various refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Participate in theoretical and practical training to develop technical skills and knowledge
  • Work closely with experienced technicians to learn industry best practices
  • Comply with all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe work environment

To be a successful candidate, you will possess:

  • Minimum Year 12 education with strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude
  • Cert II in an applicable field preferred
  • NSW Driver's Licence
  • White Card
  • Permanent rights to work in Australia
  • National Police Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Willing to learn both on and off the job
  • Strive for excellence

  • Strong work ethic
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Good knowledge of, and ability working with hand tools
