The role

Redcliffe Harness Racing Club is seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance/Grounds Keeper to join our team on a casual basis (including occasional weekends). This role is responsible for maintaining the club's facilities and grounds to the highest standards, ensuring our racecourse and surrounding areas are well-presented and welcoming for our guests and members.

Key responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance tasks such as cleaning, landscaping, and minor repairs
  • Ensuring the racecourse, stables, and public areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained
  • Operating and maintaining equipment and machinery used for grounds keeping
  • Assisting with event setup and pack down as required
  • Identifying and reporting any issues or hazards to management
  • Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance or grounds keeping role
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the use and maintenance of grounds keeping equipment
  • A strong safety-first mindset and commitment to following procedures
