Job Description

We're looking for a motivated and reliable full-time Personal & Business Assistant to support the Director of Hobart Short Stay Management, a fast-growing short-stay accommodation company based in southern Tasmania.

This role is ideal for someone looking to grow into a long-term position where they can learn, take initiative, and become a key part of a busy and expanding business. You'll work standard business hours (9am–5pm, Monday to Friday) from home, supporting both the Director personally and the wider team operationally.

You'll manage calls, messages, and scheduling for the Director, while also assisting the business with guest communication, simple booking tasks, and general admin through our Property Management System (PMS). Training will be provided in all areas, and the right person will quickly gain exposure to many aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and filter phone calls, messages, and emails on behalf of the Director.
  • Coordinate scheduling, reminders, and follow-ups.
  • Respond to guest messages and calls promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with booking updates, calendar changes, and guest coordination.
  • Complete delegated admin and organisational tasks using our PMS and internal systems.
  • Maintain professionalism and attention to detail in all communication.
  • Learn and adapt as the business grows, taking on new responsibilities over time.

  • Excellent written and verbal English.
  • Organised with strong time management skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy (Google Workspace, email, and messaging tools).
  • Ability to work from home with a stable internet connection.
