The Cairnmillar Institute is seeking to appoint an experienced bookkeeper who can support our finance team in this growing organisation. Working in a small supportive group, you will take responsibility for processing payroll, accounts payable, month end and general administration.
The successful candidate will have:
5 plus years in a bookkeeping role
Strong skills in financial accounting software and Excel
Proven experience in processing payroll for 100+ staff (knowledge of Employment Hero Payroll will be an advantage)
Experience in accounts payable and bank reconciliations
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Strong computer skills
Proven ability to work effectively and as part of a team
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
About the Cairnmillar Institute:
Established over 60 years ago, The Cairnmillar Institute is a not-for-profit organisation solely focused on advancing better mental health through education, research and treatment in the field of psychology, counselling and psychotherapy.
Cairnmillar is now one of the largest trainers of postgraduate psychologists and counsellors in Australia.
In addition to our educational programs, we offer a range of clinical services across our four clinic sites (North Melbourne, Hawthorn East, Dandenong and CBD) as well as remote services.
The role:
Reporting to the Director of Finance your key responsibilities will be:
Processing fortnightly payroll for 130+ staff including salary packaging and entitlements
Preparing and processing accounts payable
Processing direct client and student payments and managing daily bank feeds
Preparing clinic income reports for contractors
Reconciling corporate credit card statements
Preparing student invoices for upfront fees
This position offers the candidate an opportunity to work within a growing finance team and includes an interesting blend of working with staff across our academic, clinical and research arms.
The Cairnmillar Institute will be implementing a new finance system and the successful candidate will be involved in this process.
