About the School
Jimboomba State School is a large, semi-rural primary school on the southern edge of Brisbane, welcoming students from diverse home backgrounds. The school offers a strong, engaging curriculum with a focus on Literacy and Numeracy, supported by caring teachers who cater to individual learning needs. Students requiring extra help receive in-class support, while high achievers benefit from enrichment across English, Maths, Science, The Arts and ICT. With excellent facilities including a pool, hall and science room, students also enjoy a wide range of sports and extra-curricular activities. A strong Special Education Program and community connections support every child to thrive.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
