The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. As the Asset Survey Officer, you will be responsible for the field inspection, verification, and condition assessment of the Shire of Capel's infrastructure assets across all asset classes, including roads, bridges, drainage, footpaths, street furniture, parks, reserves, playgrounds, and associated vegetation.
The position plays a critical role in:
• Maintaining and improving baseline asset information.
• Supporting lifecycle planning and renewal prioritisation.
• Capturing and verifying new asset data for inclusion in the Shire's asset registers.
• Meeting statutory and organisational asset reporting requirements.

• Base annual salary $72141 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications
• Annual leave loading of 17.5%

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
• Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire's HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
• Demonstrated experience in the inspection and assessment of infrastructure assets (e.g. roads, drainage, parks, reserves, playgrounds, building and facilities).
• Ability to collect, record, and validate physical asset data in the field and input into asset management and GIS systems.
• Knowledge of asset condition rating systems and basic lifecycle management principles.
• Good surveying and measurement skills, including use of GPS or other asset location devices.
• Developed computer literacy skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and database entry.
• General knowledge of road and drainage construction and maintenance methods.
• Time management skills with the ability to work independently and meet inspection schedules.
• Strong commitment to customer service (internal and external).
• Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous development and improvement.
• Current "C" Class Driver's Licence.
Qualifications in Asset Management, Surveying (or a related discipline), and experience using Asset Management software and GIS systems will be highly regarded.
