Law Graduates & 1st Year Lawyers – Class Actions

Full-time | 12-month contract | Melbourne

Gordon Legal is seeking passionate Law Graduates and 1st Year Lawyers to join our Class Actions team. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact litigation in a firm driven by social justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and practical legal advice to clients
  • Attend and conduct client meetings
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders in class actions through effective communication and expectation management
  • Conduct legal research
  • Assist with discovery tasks
  • Support group member management and quantification of class losses
  • Draft correspondence and prepare court documents
  • Prepare briefs for counsel
  • Assist lawyers with case conduct
  • Participate in class action events and activities as appropriate
Skills and Experience
  • Industry experience (e.g. paralegal, legal assistant, volunteer legal aid)
  • Class actions experience required
  • Confident and personable
  • Strong writing, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, planning, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Exceptional analytical and investigative skills with high attention to detail
  • Results-oriented self-starter with strong initiative
  • Understanding of our client base and the ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion
