Melbourne Park is one of Australia's most iconic event precincts, hosting millions of visitors every year for world-class sporting events, concerts, and entertainment. Home to the Australian Open and performances by global artists, the precinct connects six premier venues across a 40-hectare site in the heart of Melbourne. Managing the traffic, transport and parking solutions for staff, visitors, contractors, guests and tenants is of critical importance and presents different challenges daily.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Traffic & Transport to lead the strategy, operations, safety, and culture of Melbourne Park's traffic, transport, and car park functions. This newly created role is a chance to make a significant impact by shaping both the day-to-day operations and long-term mobility strategy of one of Melbourne's busiest destinations.

The Opportunity

As Head of Traffic & Transport, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a large casual and permanent workforce, embedding a customer-first, safety-first culture.
  • Oversee daily and event-day operations across traffic, transport, and parking.
  • Optimise the commercial performance of the car park asset through data-driven insights.
  • Strengthen compliance, safety, and risk management standards across the precinct.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including government, event partners, and internal teams.
  • Contribute to long-term transport and mobility planning, ensuring systems are safe, efficient, and future-ready.

About You

You are a hands-on leader with proven experience in traffic management, parking operations, or transport logistics in a complex, high-profile environment. You thrive on operational detail, while also able to plan and implement improvements for the future.

We're looking for someone who can:

  • Deliver operational excellence in high-pressure, live event environments.
  • Navigate complex stakeholder relationships with diplomacy and credibility.
  • Champion safety and risk leadership, including behavioural and psychosocial safety.
