THE ROLE

The Central Information Point (CIP) was formed following a recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence in order to protect victim survivors of family violence.

The CIP CP Team Leader (TL) will be part of a team employed by Family Safety Victoria (FSV). The CIP Team Leader will work in a multi-disciplinary team co-located in the CIP Operations Unit in FSV, with staff from Victoria Police, Corrections Victoria, and the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, all of whom perform the role of CIP Data Custodians for their respective agencies. The CIP Data Custodians provide a summary of targeted information upon request from family violence agencies.

The CIP CP staff access the Child Protection Client Relationship Information System (CRIS) to assess and collate family violence information. This information will contribute to a consolidated report, which will assist in forming a comprehensive family violence risk assessment to keep victim survivors of family violence safe.

The role of the TL is support train and provide quality assurance of CIP reports. The TL will also be required to complete CIP reports as demand for the service dictates.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Using relevant information, input and contribute to the preparation of CIP reports.
  • Support data custodians by providing ongoing assistance and training with the CRIS data base. This includes implementing and reviewing reports and monitoring progress.
  • Identify and communicate information for multidisciplinary discussion
