Bushland Officer
We have an exciting casual position opportunity for a Bushland Officer in our passionate and innovative Biodiversity Team. Are you positive curious and passionate about the natural environment? If you have a biodiversity or environment qualification or are near completion one you may be our ideal candidate
This role is fundamental in protecting, enhancing and celebrating the sites of biological significance within the Knox municipality. In addition, this role will increase the appreciation and understanding of biodiversity values within the organisation and the broader community. You will also participate in biodiversity community events and activities.
This is a full-time role based at Council's Operations Centre in Knoxfield.
This is a Band 4 classified role under the KCC Enterprise Agreement. Remuneration will be $73,349.33 to $78,124.95 gross per annum depending on experience, plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What You Will Bring To This Role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- The position requires proficiency in the operation of more complex knowledge, including local indigenous plant communities, natural resource management practices, bushfire preparedness and fire regimes, plant ecology, pest plant and pest animal management, herbicide use and application.
- Provide biodiversity expertise to the organisation.
- Provide a high commitment to customer service.
- Support work of organised volunteer groups.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the biodiversity values of the natural environment, and the benefits for the local community
