Studio Assistant and Guest Liaison

What's the role?

You will be working with Sky News on air hosts, contributors, and guests to assist studio technical operations. Additionally, you will be supporting newsgathering operations in the field shooting media conferences and live talent interviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaising with producers from across the country to ensure seamless coordination of studio programming and talent interviews from Perth

• Liaising with guests prior to arrival to confirm interview timing and location details

• Greeting guests upon arrival and escorting them to the studio for their interview

• Setting up talent in studio with a lapel microphone, earpiece, and establishing control room IFB communications

• Troubleshooting technical issues with assistance from Technical Directors and Engineering

• Assisting with talent requests such as printing scripts or notes

• Field camera work filming talent interviews and media conferences including operating LiveU bonded cellular transmission links

Who are you?

• Tertiary qualification in Technical Broadcast Television or Film Production – Current students may apply

• Previous television production experience will be advantageous

• Ability to work independently within a broader team environment, unsupervised and to tight deadlines

• Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills

• Genuine interest in news and current events

• Ability to work varied shifts including early mornings, daytime, evenings and weekends. For current students, we can be flexible around your course commitments
