About the Role
You are an experienced Mental Health Clinician (OT or SW) who has experience, or an interest in working within eating disorders. You will provide evidence based clinical interventions for consumers presenting for support around an eating disorder.
You will provide assessment, group program facilitation, key worker support, and any other discipline specific interventions required to support consumers accessing the program.
You will develop and implement discipline specific skills and perspectives to support clinical work
Classifications for this position will range from OT/SW Grade 2 YB20 - YB23 or YC42 - YC45 ($88,030 - $101,197 per annum pro rata)

- Bachelor of Social Work (B.SW). Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work and registered as a Social Worker
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Eligible for membership of Australian Association of Occupational Therapy and registered as an Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. 2. Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Knowledge & Experience: Clinician
- Allied Health: A minimum of 3 years post qualification in, Occupational Therapy or Social Work. The classification of the appointed clinician will be determined by years of post-graduate experience in addition to years of experience as a specialist Clinician in the field of eating disorders.
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (OT)
- A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

LOCAL WORK ENVIRONMENTSt. Vincent's Mental Health (SVMH) includes an adult area mental health service for the inner city areas of Yarra and Boroondara. The adult mental health service components are: The Footbridge Community Care Unit (CCU), the 44 bed Acute Inpatient Service (AIS) located on the St. Vincent's Hospital site, the North Fitzroy PARC and two community mental health services (CMHS) at Hawthorn and East Melbourne (Clarendon CMHS). Community mental health services comprise the Psychiatric Triage and Crisis assessment and Treatment (CAT) Service and the Primary Intervention Care Team (PICT) includes Extended Triage and HOPE (Suicide Prevention), Continuing Care (CCT), Mobile Support and Treatment (MST) and Homeless Outreach (CHOPS) services and Supporting Tenants at Yarra Housing Project (STAY). A Consultation & Liaison Service is provided to the health service. NEXUS Dual Diagnosis Service, the Body Image and Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment Service (BETRS) are regional services. Statewide services are the Victorian Dual Disability Service and the Victorian Transcultural Mental Health. The Acute Inpatient Service includes 5 beds designated as the Koori State-wide Inpatient Service and linked to the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service.
All St Vincent's Mental Health clinical staff is expected to be familiar, and practice in a manner consistent with the National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce.
POSITION PURPOSEUnder the guidance of the Clinical Director (or delegate) and Manager, the clinician will provide evidenced based clinical expertise to the clinical, service development, quality improvement, research and evaluation activities of BETRS.
POSITION DUTIES- Best practice and clinical interventions are provided to consumers and carers of the service across the BETRS Model of Care.
- Provide leadership and clinical support and advice to the broader mental health service system in relation to the sub specialty of eating disorders.
- Develop and impart skills and perspectives to build capacity of other staff and support clinical work
- Actively apply the principles of continuous quality improvement towards clinical, evaluation and service development activities of BETRS.
- Ensure maintenance of documentation in accordance to accountability requirements.
- Demonstrated skill, experience and competence in the delivery of evidence based assessments and interventions for with people with eating disorders.

- Demonstrated competence in initiating and contributing to quality improvement, evaluation and research activities.
- Experience in building and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders internal and external of St. Vincent's and Austin Health; including consumers, carers, family members, GP's Private Psychiatrists, AMHS, CAMHS and community agencies.
- A comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including demonstrated excellence in problem solving ability and conflict resolution skills.

ESSENTIAL REGISTRATION, LICENSE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- A qualification in either:
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree (minimum) in Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Division 1 or 3.
- Master's Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology recognized by the Australian Psychological Society and registered as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

- Possesses qualifications providing eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians' Association of Australia (DAA) and the Accredited Practicing Dietitian Program
- Nursing: A minimum of 3 years relevant post graduate experience (full time)
- Allied Health: A minimum of 3 years post qualification in Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work.
