ES Planning is searching for a motivated and proactive Town Planner eager to expand their planning expertise and analytical skills. This role offers the opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, handling diverse residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You'll engage directly with clients, consultants, and council throughout the entire application process. Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply relevant local and state government planning strategies, policies, directions, and legislation.
- Conduct site analysis and research to assess town planning provisions, development opportunities, and constraints.
- Prepare various planning documents including Statements of Environmental Effects, Strategic Planning Reports, Clause 4.6 Variations, and other related planning reports as necessary.
- Develop fee proposals and offer initial town planning advice to clients for different planning approval pathways, such as DA and CDC.
- Manage compliance matters arising from assessed developments as required.
- Review building design documentation, drawings, and reports to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Coordinate the submission of applications to certifying authorities.
- Provide support to the ES Design team as needed.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks requested by team members and management.
Skills & Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in interpreting architectural drawings and technical diagrams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information in plain language.
- Solid understanding of NSW planning codes, Australian Standards, and the BCA/NCC.
- Thorough knowledge of the NSW planning system and the development assessment process.
- Experience in preparing town planning assessment reports and providing planning advice.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualifications in a planning-related field or equivalent.
- Current Australian Driver's License.
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
