About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Course Superintendent to join the team at McLeod Country Golf Club, located in the beautiful suburb of Mount Ommaney, Queensland. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for assisting the Course Superintendent in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the golf course and surrounding grounds.
The club is part of the Troon Agronomy program, and the advancement of the applicant will include the ongoing Troon knowledge and training to advance the skills in various areas.
The course is undergoing a development for the first time in 58 years. Richard Chamberlain Golf Design has produced a masterplan that will see all the 18 holes strengthened, new Tif Eagle on all greens, and a new state of the art multi-million-dollar greenkeeping shed with updated Toro irrigation throughout the course.

What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Course Superintendent in the planning, scheduling and execution of all golf course maintenance activities within the Troon Agronomy program.
- Operating and maintaining various golf course equipment and machinery
- Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of the course's turf, landscaping and irrigation systems
- Overseeing the work of the course maintenance team and providing guidance and support as needed
- Identifying and addressing any issues or concerns on the golf course in a timely manner
- Ensuring the golf course meets the highest standards of presentation and playability
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of course improvement projects
What we're looking for
- Relevant qualifications in Horticulture, Turf Management or a related field
- Strong Irrigation knowledge and skills
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a golf course maintenance or similar role
- Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance and operation of golf course equipment and machinery
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to effectively address course-related issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the course maintenance team
- A passion for maintaining exceptional course conditions and providing an exceptional golfing experience
- A valid driver's license and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
