Miallo State School is inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced leaders for the role of Principal (Level 3) throughout 2026.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest, commencing 21 January 2026. Any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About The School
Miallo State School is located 10 kilometres from Mossman, in the Shire of Douglas. Our school is surrounded by views of rainforest, lush farming and cane fields. We are a family-orientated school over 100 years old where traditions are valued and innovation is embraced.

About The Role
As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive teaching and learning excellence and whole-school improvement
  • Lead a collaborative, inclusive school culture
  • Build strong partnerships with families, local organisations, and the wider community
  • Manage resources strategically and ensure compliance with Department of Education policies
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and leadership development
