Introduction - Role Summary/Purpose :

We are seeking a Woolworths Customer Development Manager who brings a General Manager mindset and a clear drive to win within our key retail partner. This pivotal role is responsible for accelerating growth, building brand penetration, and deepening customer collaboration with Woolworths. You will achieve this by developing and implementing strategic, data-driven Omnichannel Customer Joint Value Plans that align with our brand strategies, ultimately delivering on sales goals, sustainable profitability, and market share growth in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities :

Strategic Planning & Category Growth

  • Develop and execute a holistic omni-channel commercial plan that aligns with the retailer's ecosystem and strategy.
  • Leverage total customer investment and other ecosystem tools to drive volume and achieve sales targets.
  • Support the Shopper Development Manager in developing comprehensive category reviews, leading the commercial components for your designated customers.
  • Implement and maintain category management initiatives designed to drive retailer efficiencies and margin improvements.

Commercial Acumen & Financial Discipline

  • Strategically manage the product mix to over-index volume growth on premium and high-priority segments.
  • Champion a strong Revenue Growth Management (RGM) and ROI mindset, conducting thorough post-analysis of all promotional executions to evaluate performance and inform future strategy.
  • Lead customer negotiations to drive growth through 7Ps
  • Own the commercial estimate and lead a disciplined monthly forecasting process to accurately manage sales targets and stock weight.

Customer Relationship & Partnership Management

  • Own and cultivate the day-to-day relationship with the customer's Category Buying team, acting as the primary trusted contact.
  • Negotiate with and influence key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of approved customer plans and initiatives.
  • Actively monitor and share customer news, competitive activities, and market developments to inform and adapt the commercial strategy.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead key internal planning forums (e.g. Consensus) to develop robust and fully aligned customer commercial plans.
  • Involve and collaborate with key stakeholders—including Retail Marketing, Marketing, Digital, and Finance—in the development and execution of all commercial plans.
  • Maintain a strong sense of curiosity, actively learning from other business units' successes and identifying opportunities to adopt best practices locally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial roles - Customer Development. Ideally working in a similar role already.
  • Experience working in consumer product goods a must
