Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Unison Housing Ltd Full time $60,000 - $80,000 per year

About Unison

Unison is a for-purpose organisation that works to reduce disadvantage and social exclusion for over 3,500 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness each year. We believe that housing is the foundation on which to build a life of value but that a good life takes more than just housing - a good life takes place in a community. We're also committed to building a thriving community internally for the people that work with us. We're proud to offer contemporary people programs and benefits in line with our values, and we're certified as a Great Place to Work.

About the role

As a Maintenance Coordinator you'll be the driving force behind the smooth operations of our planned and reactive maintenance activities across our portfolio of properties.

Working from our central hub (desk-based), you'll be responsible for:

  • Prioritising and allocating work based on urgency, cost-efficiency, and operational needs.
  • Problem-solving in real time – finding smart solutions to maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Coordinating with our on-site Building Managers to ensure seamless delivery and minimal disruption.
  • Monitoring progress, ensuring SLAs are met and keeping accurate records throughout.
  • Liaising with internal and external contractors, keeping quality high and costs under control.

What we are looking for

We're looking for energetic, solution-focused individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional service and keeping things running like clockwork.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience in maintenance coordination, facilities management, scheduling, or similar.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A natural flair for communication and collaboration.
  • The ability to juggle priorities without dropping the ball.
  • A proactive attitude and calm approach to problem-solving.
  • Tech confidence – especially with scheduling and work order software.

Why join us?

  • Play a role in a property team that values innovation, efficiency, and trust.
  • Great career development opportunities.
  • Supportive, collaborative environment where your ideas matter.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

If you love staying organised, thinking on your feet, and making a real impact every day, this is your chance.

Apply now and help the future of our property operations. We will be reviewing applications as they come in.
