Gympie Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Marketing & Communications Team as an Officer Communications Support in this full-time permanent position.
Role Overview
To support the Marketing and Communications team and the organisation by producing and delivering communications and marketing skill set.
To create and deliver the production, implementation and rollout of effective external communication, marketing and engagement strategies in a team environment.
The role will require the use of various mediums, understanding the importance of local government and their associated business unit communications and the dissemination to staff, residents, stakeholders and community throughout the region, working in partnership to raise Gympie Regional Council's and the region's profile.
The role will also support the team and manager with administration work.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of the workings and complexity of local government.
- Ability to write and produce content for various mediums within tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of marketing and communications and modern communications strategy and tools.
- To fit into a team environment, juggling competing priorities.
- To work proactively using critical thinking skills.
- An eagerness to problem solve and improve service delivery.
- Understanding of the importance of a community-focused unit.
- Enthusiasm to learn and gain experience in a functional marketing and communications team.
- Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence that is current and maintained.
Essential Requirements:
- To work within tight deadlines.
- Creation and production of copy and visual content for a range of external channels. This includes and is not limited to corporate reports, brochures, flyers, ecommunity publications, social media, websites, and team reporting.
- Support communications workflows such as calendar management, data entry, procurement, sign off procedures, and ongoing support for the Marketing and Communications team.
- Support team delivery by performing administrative tasks such as sourcing and purchasing, advertisement and editorial bookings, and monitoring incoming requests.
