About the role

Join our passionate team as a Disability Support Worker at Discovering You Support Services' in Maryborough, Gympie, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane North, QLD. This part-time role is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, providing personalised support to help them achieve their goals and live more independently.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, household tasks and daily behavior management
  • Supporting clients to participate in community, social, and recreational activities
  • Advocating for clients' needs and ensuring they receive appropriate services and support
  • Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborating with clients, their families, and the wider support team to develop and implement individualised care plans
  • Ensuring a safe and caring environment for all clients

What we're looking for

  • A demonstrated understanding of the disability sector and the needs of individuals with disabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the independence and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Check, Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), or equivalent experience
  • A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain these
