The opportunity
Our Community Infrastructure team are seeking an experienced Projects Officer to support the delivery of capital and maintenance projects for Council's diverse portfolio of recreational, sporting and community facilities.
This opportunity will see you working on the end-to-end delivery of a wide range of capital works projects. This role is responsible for project development, procurement and contractor management to ensure successful project delivery for the Port Stephens community.
The Community Infrastructure team sits in Council's Capital Works section, with a diverse range of professional and trade experience including Architecture, Civil Engineering, Horticulture, Contract and Project Management.
This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
Base Salary Range: $74,379 - $87,503 pa based on 35 hours / week + 11.5% superannuation + commuter use vehicle + $2,312 retention allowance
You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

Investigation, scoping and delivery of asset maintenance and improvement projects in collaboration with other sections of Council, volunteers and community groups

Management of contractors including contract preparation

Investigation and implementation of improved service delivery processes, including group facilitation, consultation, adaptation of technology and training

A certificate in Horticulture, project management or a related discipline

Demonstrated experience in project management of minor capital works.

Demonstrated contractor management skills including the preparation and assessment of tenders

Demonstrated communication skills

Possess or have the ability to obtain accreditations and other skills required by best industry practice such as Playground Safety Assessment, and Tree Assessment accreditations
