Port Stephens Council seeks a collaborative and adaptable individual with strong community engagement skills to join the Emergency Management team as an Emergency Resilience Officer.
The ideal candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in project management, community engagement, education, emergency management or equivalent experience.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs for staff, the community and stakeholders on emergency preparedness and response.
- Engage with local businesses, community groups and other organisations regarding emergency management initiatives.
- Provide support to impacted communities during and after natural disasters.
- A degree in project management, community engagement, education or emergency management.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing community education programs.
- Flexible work options and generous leave entitlements.
- Long service leave after 5 years of service.
- Health & wellbeing leave to recharge when needed.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Emergency Management Coordinator and Project Manager, supporting the community before, during and after emergencies.
