About the opportunity

The School of Life and Environmental Sciences is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cotton Course Coordinator to provide operational project management support and advice for the effective delivery of the Cotton Course, to be comprised of a series of micro-credential short courses. In this role, you will coordinate multiple workstreams, engage with a range of stakeholders including University staff, cotton industry staff, growers and consultants, and ensure timely implementation of project plans and activities. Working under broad supervision, you will exercise sound judgement in planning and prioritising tasks, resolving routine matters independently, and collaborating with others to address more complex issues all while supporting the successful planning and delivery of the Cotton Course micro-credentials.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • perform operational project management support activities to assist with planning and establishing of the Cotton Course micro-credentials
  • monitor Cotton Course activities, deliverables, and milestones, addressing issues or deviations as needed
  • manage Cotton Course logistics, maintain stakeholder relationships, assist with financial tracking and drafting reports
  • assist with the development and maintenance of a learning management system for the Cotton Course micro-credentials
  • liaise with the Sydney Short Courses group to offer upcoming Cotton Course micro-credentials online and to monitor enrolments
  • field enquiries from enrolled participants in the Cotton Course micro-credentials
  • coordinate the collection and preparation of Cotton Course data and ensure relevant resources and documentation are available
  • assist in identifying and booking key project resources such as technology, equipment, workspaces, transport and catering for in-person components of Cotton Course micro-credentials
  • assist in identifying outreach and promotional opportunities for the Cotton Course
  • act as the Secretariat for Cotton Course Advisory Committee (CCAC) meetings

About you

  • a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent training and experience
  • experience in project management and budget monitoring
  • skills in engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • a familiarity with Australian agricultural systems
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer literacy
  • experience of, or a willingness to learn, online learning management systems
  • excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail
  • the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in team environments.
