Narrabri, Australia Graincorp Operations Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year
Role: Site Manager
Location: Narrabri

About our team
What did you have for breakfast today? Whether it's the flour in your toast or the grain in your cereal, it's highly likely that GrainCorp helped get it onto your plate.

As we find new ways to connect rural communities with food, animal feed and industrial customers around the world, we are proud to say we're leading the way in sustainable agriculture. We're keen to play an active part in the communities where we live and work.

About the role
As the Site Manager of our Narrabri grain storage and distribution facility you'll lead a team of Grain Handlers to ensure the safe, efficient receival, storage, and outload of commodities. This hands-on leadership role offers variety, autonomy, and a strong connection to both the land and local community. Bring your operational know-how, leadership capability, and a commitment to safety - and help us keep Australia's grain supply chain moving.

Narrabri is known for its wheat, cotton, beef and lamb production, and supports a strong agricultural economy. It is home to major research centres, including a grains institute. The town has a warm, community-oriented feel with heritage architecture, local cafes, a movie theatre, and annual events that bring people together.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of the team; coach and support development of team members
  • Get to know, understand and apply our enterprise agreement and people processes
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
  • Coordinate and prepare for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
  • Identify and report on maintenance requirements and maintain site presentation and standards
  • Manage programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management

Our busiest time of the year is the annual post-winter harvest period, which can last for up to three months and involves managing several harvest casuals and contractors in receiving thousands of tonnes of grain from local growers. It's an incredibly rewarding experience seeing local grain fill up silos and bunkers, delivered by diverse, hardworking and passionate teams.

About your experience
You'll succeed in this role if you've had experience in plant operations (ideally the Grain industry) and:

  • Experience supervising, supporting and developing workgroups / individuals
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational demands
  • Capacity to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Current unrestricted driver licence and basic IT literacy

What we offer:

  • Ongoing training and safety programs
  • Paid Parental leave and birthday leave
  • Employee referral bonus scheme
  • We're also a Family Inclusive Workplace accredited employer, committed to supporting you both on and off the job

Ready to apply/Next steps
The next steps are easy Simply submit your application and one of our team will reach out for a chat to discuss your background in more detail. We are looking forward to speaking to you

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical. A current, valid driver's licence is also required.
