**As Principal Internal Communication Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping how the department communicates and engages with its people. You'll partner with the Executive Leadership Team, senior managers and project leaders to deliver strategies that support organisational objectives, build trust and keep staff connected.

Your work will span both strategic planning and hands-on delivery. You'll drive the delivery of the department's internal communication and engagement work program including creating engaging content, preparing executive updates, coordinating major events such as staff forums and the annual Spotlight celebration, and analysing feedback and trends for continuous improvement. You'll also design campaigns that bring visibility to organisational priorities and create opportunities for staff to engage directly with leaders.

Collaboration will be central to your success. You'll develop strong relationships with leaders across the department, providing trusted advice on how to maximise the reach and impact of communication activities. You'll work as part of a creative, multidisciplinary team alongside colleagues in engagement, design, digital and media to deliver coordinated, innovative and impactful outcomes.

While this role has no direct reports, you'll play a leadership role in the team by supporting and mentoring colleagues. By sharing your expertise and modelling best practice, you'll help foster a culture that is collaborative, solutions-focused and values creativity.

This is a fast-paced role requiring the ability to manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure. It calls for exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder engagement, and the confidence to provide advice that influences decision-making at senior levels.
