About us

Good Food Distributors is a proud Australian owned family company established in1994.We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Sales representative/Business Development Manager to help manage and grow our business throughout Newcastle Hunter Central & Mid North Coast. This is a great opportunity to help grow shape the next stage of Good Food Distributors. We are a wholesale and distribution company that manufacture portion meat products on site for both the Foodservice and Retail markets We are brand holders for Primo Smallgoods, Lavazza Coffee, San Pellegrino, Hunter Gold, Reserve & Signature meat and many others. We range poultry ,chesses ,meats ,smallgoods , seafood ,mineral waters ,juices, beer wine and much more. Pretty much what you would find in old time deli, set up to supply foodservice and retail sectors.

Key Accountabilities

  • Building New Business whilst maintaining existing
  • Achievement of set targeted levels of call rates, coverage, distribution, trade spend, product mix and volume.
  • Development plans formulated and executed in conjunction with Sales Manager.
  • Performance reviews and 1:1's conducted and documented
  • Meet KPI's in a timley manner, and continuous improvement areas identified and activated in a timely manner as set by Sales manager.
  • Execution of sales strategies as outlined at cycle meetings and any defined state-based initiatives to achieve the annual targets for nominated customer accounts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Exceptional negotiation and customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad customer base
  • You must have Proven Sales experience in managing customer accounts and growing business
  • The ability to prioritise your work load, and be self motivated
  • Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously
  • Aptitude for working with computers, including the ability to quickly learn internal systems
  • Professional personal presentation
  • Previous Meat ,Smallgoods ,Wine and or Coffee sales experience would be an advantage
  • Experience with CRM,Microsoft office and other sales related programs
  • Competence in building trust and customer loyalty

Tasks & Other Accountabilities

  • Maintain an existing customer base whilst focusing on new business growth
  • Achieve sales KPI's and meet quarterly targets
  • Develop new business opportunities to increase sales
  • Create and maintain customer pricing and margins
  • Identify, develop and manage new areas of growth
  • Work co-operatively and competitively within a busy sales team environment
  • Manage self to achieve call rate, coverage, distribution, trade spend, product mix and volume targets.
  • Arrange a geographically defined territory into a journey plan that delivers efficient service to customers, and maximises the utilisation of time.
  • Actively demonstrate teamwork
  • Timely and efficient administration demonstrated by self. Take on additional responsibility as required by the business.
