On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence Sector.

I am currently urgently looking for an experienced Senior Project Support Officer / Assistant PM with NV1 clearance for a long term day rate contract role based in Canberra.

Main Duties:

  • Actively support the Project Manager in meeting accountabilities in setting work priorities, workflows and work packages for project personnel.

  • Support the team in delivering against its milestones, within cost, within budget and to the agreed scope.

  • Conduct planning, scheduling and estimating of work/tasks to meet Defence requirements.

  • Prepare project documentation including strategies, plans, schedules and estimates, and assisting with the review and clearance processes for project documentation.

  • Provide expert project management, professional and policy advice to project teams and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and facilitate briefings, workshops, presentations and reports for the management team and other Defence stakeholders.

  • Contribute to strategic planning, program and project management or policy development for the project, providing advice on innovation and business improvement.

  • Support the preparation and drafting of briefs, complex correspondence, reports and submissions for board/committee consideration on project status in accordance with organisational requirements, including monthly Project Performance Review Information Platform (PPRIP) reporting and internal governance and management forums.

  • Support development and maintenance of processes that support the effective and efficient management and governance of the project.

  • For discrete tasking, be able to lead a multi-disciplinary team and be accountable to set work priorities and workflows for required work packages.

  • Support complex procurement activities including: Review of solicitation documentation and supporting information (i.e. statements of work, statements of requirement, data item descriptions).

Key Skills / Experience required:

  • at least 8 + years' experience in a similar role gained within the Defence sector where you have been involved in most of the duties mentioned above.
  • Strong Stakeholder engagement capabilites.
  • NV1 above clearance is MADATORY
  • Must be able to work in Canberra full time
