ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES (TIIS)

ABOUT THE PERSON

· A PhD or Doctorate level qualification in a related field, or equivalent experience as per the TIIS qualifications equivalence policy.

· At least 3 years of teaching experience in a relevant discipline.

· At least 3 years of professional or practice-based experience in a related discipline.

· At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or higher-level role.

· Active membership in relevant professional or industry associations.

· Evidence of continuing scholarship in a related discipline, and in teaching, learning, and assessment, consistent with TEQSA's guidance on scholarship.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, at an intermediate or higher level.

· Familiarity with Moodle and Canvas Student Learning Management Systems, with the ability to enhance the delivery of subject content.

· Demonstrated understanding of and empathy for the context of a growing higher education institution, particularly within the private higher education sector.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to institutional development.

· Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

· Demonstrated ability to work with others and lead a team.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria before applying:

1. Must be based in Sydney, as this is an on-campus position

2. Must have full working rights in Australia

3. Must have at least 3-years' experience working in the Australian Higher Education Sector

4. Must hold a PhD or Doctorate level qualification in a related field

ABOUT THE POSITION

Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Managing and coordinating relevant course activities in collaboration with relevant personnel such as timetabling, student progress, quality assurance, staff/student grievances, student academic integrity, subject moderation, and student mentoring

· Supporting the Dean/Academic Director with related administrative activities and initiatives

· Participating in course development, review, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Providing academic consultation and support to students as required.

· Preparing, delivering, and assessing subjects and assessments in line with TIIS academic standards.

· Managing and developing subjects within the allocated courses to ensure alignment with intended learning outcomes.

· Assisting with recruitment, induction, management, and development of academic staff reporting to the role.

· Developing and implementing an individual program of scholarship consistent with the goals and objectives of TIIS and TESQA guidance on scholarship

· Engaging with relevant industry associations through active membership and participation in industry-based events.
