An outstanding opportunity is currently available for a technical minded person who has experience in Acoustics (ideally, 4+ years), keen to continue to learn acoustics to join ACA's expanding team based in our Sydney office.
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Acoustical Consultant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to continue your career in acoustics, working with the assistance of experienced consultants on a diverse range of projects including hospitality, residential, commercial and infrastructure developments. Based in Sydney, you will be responsible for managing your own projects and time, carrying out varied technical assignments, including noise and vibration assessments, noise monitoring and acoustic testing jobs, acquisition and collation of data, computer modelling using SoundPLAN, production of technical reports and office administration.
The right applicant will be passioned and motivated about acoustics and will have an engineering or science degree and a minimum of 4 years track record in environmental and/or building acoustics.
About You:
We are looking for a person with passion about acoustics and interest about business development, motivated by the impact you can make to shape the environment and the spaces where we live, work and entertain. The ideal candidate will have:
- 4 years' experience in Acoustics.
- Tertiary qualification in Acoustics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Physics or a related discipline.
- Passion for acoustics, environmental noise, and building design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with acoutical specialist environmental noise software like SoundPLAN, Cadna, iNoise, relevant Australian Standards, Building Codes, and Environmental Noise Guidelines.
- Knowledge and experience with acoustic measurement equipment (sound level meters and vibration meters).
- Current driver's licence (site work required).
- Interest in business development
- Desirable (but not essential): Coding/scripting/programming writing skills. AI tools aware for data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage your projects from start to finish, with the support of the principal consultant.
Conduct environmental and building noise measurements using specialised equipment.
Prepare technical reports, noise impact assessments, and support documentation for planning approvals.
Acoustic modelling and data analysis.
Undertake site inspections and liaise with clients, councils, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the design of noise control and acoustic treatment solutions.
Support senior consultants in project delivery, project administration and with client management.
Assist with proposals, quotes and tender preparation.
