getback is a network of spinal rehabilitation clinics delivering structured, measurable treatment for patients experiencing back pain, neck pain, and related musculoskeletal conditions.

Our model focuses on restoring function in the deep spinal muscles that provide stability and control to the spine. These muscles are often weakened after injury or pain and can be difficult to activate using traditional exercise methods.

We use specialised TGA-approved equipment that allows patients to move within pain-free ranges, with precise load control and real-time feedback. This data-driven approach allows clinicians to tailor individual programs and monitor progress in spinal strength, mobility, and control.

About the Placement Role

As a student on placement with getback, you'll have the opportunity to observe and assist in the delivery of our rehabilitation model within a supportive and evidence-based clinical environment.

During your placement, you will:

  • Observe initial consultations and spinal strength & mobility assessments
  • Learn how spinal function is measured using normative data
  • Support clinicians in delivering targeted, movement-based therapy using spinal rehabilitation equipment
  • Develop clinical reasoning and exercise programming skills for musculoskeletal conditions
  • Learn to apply objective data to design and progress treatment plans
  • Assist in tracking patient outcomes, completing session notes, and understanding discharge processes
  • Be part of a clinical team that values professionalism, patient care, and collaborative learning

This placement offers excellent exposure for students interested in spinal health, rehabilitation, and the integration of technology in clinical exercise practice.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Foundational knowledge in anatomy, biomechanics, and strength & conditioning principles
  • Strong interest in spinal health and evidence-based rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the role of objective measurement and progressive loading in rehab
  • Enthusiasm to learn and contribute within a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Interest in pursuing further study in exercise physiology
