About the role

We're looking for a passionate and community-focused
Local Coordinators
to join our Portfolio teams in supporting the implementation and long-term success of our carbon farming and other environmental market initiatives across our portfolios.

Reporting to a Head of Portfolio, this role is a unique mix of landholder engagement, field coordination, and strategic input. You will lead day-to-day, face-to-face engagement with landholders, contribute to data collection and field logistics, and ensure local realities are front and centre in our project design and delivery. You will be involved in empowering communities, building capacity and facilitating collaboration on our carbon sequestration projects.

In depth knowledge of local stakeholders, community dynamics, and regional socio-environmental priorities in these areas is essential.

Day to day responsibilities at GreenCollar will include:

Landholder engagement and relationship management

  • Act as the primary, trusted point of contact for landholders
  • Lead regular face-to-face and phone-based engagement to support strong collaboration and build long-term trust
  • Identify capacity-building opportunities and support landholder understanding of carbon projects and environmental outcomes
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure landholder needs and local context are reflected in project activities and planning

Field Operations Support

  • Support the planning and delivery of field monitoring activities in collaboration with Portfolio and On-Ground Services teams
  • Assist with data collection for vegetation, soils, and other natural resource assets using digital tools
  • Contribute to field visits including audits, external visits, and third-party assessments
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment, and support planning of field trips including logistics and safety

Strategic insights and local intelligence

  • Actively contribute to strategic planning within the Portfolio by bringing insights about local conditions, risks, and opportunities
  • Ensure local land management practices and environmental realities are considered in project sequencing and technical decisions
  • Where relevant, collaborate with Business Development Managers to identify and nurture new commercial opportunities

Background and experience

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with landholders, community groups and stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences
  • Demonstrated experience with outdoor fieldwork, ideally in natural resource management, conservation, or agriculture
  • Good understanding of environmental and land management issues relevant to your region
  • Sound planning, organisation and time management skills—able to manage multiple tasks and deliver against milestones
  • Proficiency with digital tools for field data collection and compilation
  • GIS and spatial data skills for capturing and managing property-scale and landscape-scale information
  • Current Senior First Aid & CPR (Wilderness or Remote First Aid desirable)
  • Current, unrestricted Class C Driver's Licence (manual) with 4WD experience or willingness to obtain
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in remote areas, in all weather conditions
  • Experience in the carbon farming or environmental markets sector
  • Familiarity with WHS procedures and risk management in remote field contexts
