Design and Development Director
to drive excellence across all aspects of design, development, and production with a competitive base salary + bonus structure

About the Role:

In this senior leadership position, you'll play a critical role in both
sales/product development
and
production management
, ensuring exceptional service delivery to our clients and partners. You'll lead seasonal development, manage end-to-end product creation, and build strong relationships with clients and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Sales:

  • Drive new business opportunities across all garment categories
  • Lead seasonal development schedules by category and client
  • Source fabrics and trims with approved vendors for client presentations
  • Attend and support all client presentations with tailored samples and cost sheets
  • Forecast seasonal trends and manage showroom sample budgets
  • Maintain high-level client relationships and ensure satisfaction through regular meetings

Production Management:

  • Match vendors and brief them on development needs
  • Oversee development trackers and approval processes with the Merchandise Manager (MM)
  • Ensure timely bulk production, QA/QC compliance, and vendor alignment with Maker & Co standards
  • Attend fittings and monitor deadlines and quality throughout the supply chain

Reporting & Strategy:

  • Prepare weekly trackers and management reports
  • Deliver timely pricing quotations and participate in strategic planning meetings
  • Present insights and reports for client and supplier meetings as needed

Key Performance Indicators:

  • New business acquisition each season
  • Delivery in Full, On Time (DIFOT)
  • Cost compliance and margin performance
  • Achievement of client sales budgets and GP targets
