About the Role

Nextgen Transit is seeking a motivated Fleet Controller to join our Operations team. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily scheduling of vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with transport regulations, and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule, allocate, and monitor daily fleet movements to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Act as the key contact for drivers and operations team regarding routes and updates.
  • Manage fleet compliance in collaboration with the National WHS & Compliance Manager.
  • Oversee dispatching, subcontractor coordination, and driver recruitment.
  • Liaise with customers, resolve service issues, and provide updates.
  • Maintain TMS records, prepare reports, and monitor KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and continuous improvement.

About You
  • 2–3 years' experience in transport/logistics, preferably fleet control or dispatch.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in TMS, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office.
  • Certificate/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transport Management (desirable).
