Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Windows Server Administrator to support a Windows Server 2016 upgrade client project for a 12 month full time contract position, with the possibility to extend. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in systems engineering and a passion for structured planning and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing Windows Server 2016 upgrade activities across client environments.
- Coordinate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure smooth upgrade processes.
- Perform pre-upgrade assessments and post-upgrade validations.
- Document upgrade procedures, configurations, and outcomes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during upgrade phases.
- Maintain accurate records of upgrade progress and system changes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Basic experience with Windows Server environments, ideally including upgrade projects.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
- Ability to follow structured processes and escalate issues appropriately.
- Good communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Experience with virtual environments (VMware)

- Work within and actively promote the core vision, corporate strategies, values, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of and adherence to any corporate or government compliance requirements. Ensure adherence to Starboard IT Information Security policies, procedures, standards and proactively report.
- Continued employment is subject to the successful completion of AFP Police clearance check.
